Ashish speaks at the AWS Hong Kong Summit

Ashish Kaushik, Head of DevOps at SourceFuse, attended this year’s AWS Partner Summit as a Panelist to express his views on Microsoft Workloads on AWS.

The themes this year at the AWS Partner Summit, held in The Mira, Hong Kong, revolved around Blockchain, Database migration, Machine learning & IoT. The Partner Summit is designed for attendees to learn from and engage in discussions with others about the latest trends. Understanding how they can adopt this new technology into their current workloads. Finding new ways of serving customers with Serverless Applications, Data Lakes, and IoT technologies.

Every AWS Summit is a great opportunity to hear about the successes of peers and gain new skills and insights for developing a growing cloud practice. This year’s session, most importantly, emphasized on learning how to increase revenue with cloud-based products and services, gain a greater competitive advantage, and expand businesses with lead generation.

In fact, a lot of our clients use the infrastructure cost savings gained through AWS migrations to finance their long-term growth, and continued engagement with us.

Microsoft Applications on AWS, Ashish’s Presentation Topic

Most of our customers are currently running or looking to run their Microsoft applications in the cloud. At the AWS Summit, Ashish took this discussion one step further by elaborating on the following:

  • Why customers choose to migrate their Microsoft Workloads to AWS
  • What choices of Microsoft licenses are offered in AWS
  • What kind of supporting resources AWS can provide to help them migrate to the cloud
  • How we helped our customers to migrate core business productivity systems like Microsoft Dynamics to AWS
  • What kind of challenges we met and how we addressed them by leveraging different AWS best practices.

He also emphasised the advantages one receives when using AWS for Microsoft Workloads. Ranging from a lower cost of ownership, higher Reliability, breadth and depth of services, and the deep Integration with .NET Developer Tools.

All these advantages are based on practical use cases.

Adding to that, he showcased a few statistics supporting the inevitable enthusiasm customers have for AWS, which precisely were,

  • 60+ availability zones spanning 20 geographic regions
  • 50+ compliance certifications including HIPAA, FISMA, ITAR, EU Model Clauses, SOC-1.2.3 FIPS and ISO.
  • Capable of delivering up to 80,000 IOPS/Instance with consistency
  • 140+ Service offerings

Ashish’s Overall Experience

According to Ashish, “The session was extremely interactive and the Summit had some brilliant insights on Microsoft Workloads, among other AWS Services.”
