Following this year’s successful return of the Jax Tech Meetup Group networking events, Jax Tech held its last speaking event of 2021 on 09 December at MOSH, Jacksonville, FL. Sponsored and organized by Kelly Dyer, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, SourceFuse, this event took a unique look at the technology used in manufacturing. It explored the use of advanced geographic information systems (GIS) data, the latest in automation software in modern facilities, and considered leveraging tech for outer space.

Andrew Rush, President and COO, Redwire Space, shared his recent experience of deploying solar panels to the international space station and his ongoing innovative projects in and around the Jax region. Committed to tackling the toughest manufacturing challenges, he described one such project, looking at how to build larger solar panels in space and deploy scientific payloads to experiment in zero gravity.
Nathan Fabrick, VP of Corporate Development, National Land Realty takes the approach that advanced manufacturing technology starts with site selection. He examined how to leverage advanced GIS data, filters, layers, and predictive analytics to make informed decisions on where to build. Nathan shared his depth of knowledge on how using this combination of data delivers strategic advantages for site selection.
Matthew Chang, Engineering Expert, Chang Industrial, is an expert in the how, what, and where of industrial automation, and posed the question: how can Jacksonville adopt more cutting-edge manufacturing and industrial automation? He shared his extensive experiences, from designing the downtown autonomous vehicle corridor to building the pioneering Keurig automated facilities.
