Medical Tracking Solutions, Inc. (MTS) aims towards effectively tracking, managing, and leveraging field inventory management solutions. The company’s flagship product, iTraycer was running on collocated data centers, with high on-prem costs, and needed scalable capabilities to onboard more clients. MTS was looking for a cost effective inventory software that could scale on-demand, catering specifically for medical device manufacturers and hospitals, in order to realize increased sales revenue, reduce capital investments in inventory, and lower operating expenses.
MTS was housing their servers in a collocated data center that was lacking additional services and customer service, which was ultimately limiting the company’s control of their servers.
As a result, MTS experienced lengthy downtime when deploying new features, and their processes were slowed down with in-house application management. With the current hosting provider, they felt that they were missing out on healthcare-specific domain expertise and the associated advantages that could be leveraged with modern cloud-native technology.

Taking a consultative approach, SourceFuse assessed MTS’s IT infrastructure and proposed rebuilding on AWS in order to optimize data workflows and increase customer onboarding and integrations.
The new architecture would incorporate AWS High Availability Zones and leverage AWS Auto Scaling, to create a right-sized environment that automatically adjusts capacity based on the monitoring the demand.
We introduced an AWS CloudTrail monitoring dashboard to log traffic and provide transparency to system admins, while hosting everything inside Private Subnets to increase security.
Through modernization-led cloud migration, we successfully migrated MTS to AWS Cloud, which significantly improved its site efficiency.
