Overview
A global telecommunications leader in India is driving a strategic transformation from a traditional product company to a cloud-first, SaaS-centric enterprise.
As part of this vision, it chose to SaaSify its flagship platform, a microservices-based BSS solution for telecom operators on AWS. Partnering with SourceFuse, an AWS SaaS Competency Partner, it aimed to accelerate time-to-market, simplify deployment, and enhance scalability across customer segments.
By leveraging SourceFuse’s ARC SaaS open-source accelerator, it achieved a seamless SaaS enablement for the platform in record time, laying the foundation for future platform transformations.
The Challenge
The leading telecommunications solutions provider needed to re-architect the platform for multi-tenant SaaS delivery while addressing key business and technical goals:
- Accelerate SaaS time-to-market to tap into new customer segments.
- Support Tier 1 telcos with isolated environments for compliance and performance.
- Enable Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers via cost-effective shared environments.
- Automate tenant onboarding and provisioning for operational efficiency.
- Offer flexible pricing tiers based on feature usage and resource needs.
- Ensure tenant isolation and data compliance across multiple regions.
With a tight 3.5-month project window, achieving this transformation required expert guidance, automation, and AWS-native solutions.
The Solution
AWS introduced SourceFuse as its trusted SaaS Competency Partner to guide the organization’s SaaSification journey. Through a collaborative delivery model, SourceFuse built the Control Plane while the organization focused on the Application Plane.
Using the ARC SaaS Accelerator, SourceFuse delivered a robust foundation for the platform’s SaaS operations with:
- Multi-tenancy with isolation using shared compute and namespace-based data segregation in Kubernetes.
- Automated onboarding & provisioning, covering infrastructure rollout, identity management, and plan configuration.
- Configurable pricing and licensing tiers, enabling commercial flexibility.
- Tenant-aware observability and centralized lifecycle management.
- Billing and invoicing automation for scalable SaaS operations.
The resulting architecture adheres to TM Forum standards, supports both B2B and B2C telco use cases, and dramatically simplifies deployments for new customers.
Results
- 6-9-month acceleration in SaaS go-to-market.
- Automated multi-tenant onboarding, reducing manual provisioning efforts.
- Feature-based pricing models were introduced for flexible monetization.
- Standardized deployments across customer environments.
- A foundation established for SaaSifying additional platforms.
Together, AWS, the leading telecommunications solutions provider, and SourceFuse have built a scalable SaaS framework, positioning the organization to expand across telecom markets globally.
